Lordy Lord

To listen to Lordy Lord, click here

This song takes the offensive about as far as one can unreasonably take the offensive, but still not so far as the ultimate offense, which is the act of committing evil and then passing on the blame, and your own cowardice in refusing to commit it, to others. My offense is merely the offense of satire.

Lordy Lord, I'm good as gold, Lordy Lord
Lordy Lord, I'm good as gold, Lordy Lord
Lordy Lord I'm good as gold
I'm just doing what I'm told
Lordy Lord I'm good as gold, Lordy Lord

Well they told me shoot a nigger, Lordy Lord
Yes they told me shoot a nigger, Lordy Lord
So I went and shot a nigger
All I did was pull the trigger
I'm just doing what I'm told, Lordy Lord

Then they told me burn a Jew-boy, Lordy Lord
Yes they told me burn a Jew-boy, Lordy Lord
So I did, I burned a Jew-boy
But I left a few for you boy
I'm just doing what I'm told, Lordy Lord

They said shove 'em in the ovens, Lordy Lord
They said shove 'em in the ovens, Lordy Lord
So I shoved 'em in the ovens
Well this world never did love 'em
I'm just doing what I'm told, Lordy Lord

Then they told me lynch a queer, Lordy Lord
Yes they told me lynch a queer, Lordy Lord
So I went and lynched a queer
What a shame, o dear, o dear
I'm just doing what I'm told, Lordy Lord

Lordy Lord they said to jail him, Lordy Lord
And to make sure no one bailed him, Lordy Lord
And I'm not the sort to fail 'em
So I went and fucking nailed him
I'm just doing what I'm told, Lordy Lord

Do not think it gives me pleasure, Lordy Lord
No don't think it gives me pleasure, Lordy Lord
Obeying orders ain't no pleasure
It's my work Lord, not my leisure
When I'm doing what I'm told, Lordy Lord

Lordy Lord I'm innocent, Lordy Lord
Absolutely innocent, Lordy Lord
Lordy Lord I'm innocent
Why you must blame some other men
Cause I'm just doing what I'm told, Lordy Lord
